陸上自衛隊の特殊任務部隊が在日米軍北部訓練場(沖縄県)にあるジャングル戦闘訓練センター(Jungle Warfare Training Center, JWTC)に5名のオブザーバー隊員を派遣し、アメリカ海兵隊の戦術を観察、ジャングル環境での通信技術の習得などを行い、今後の訓練場の共同利用を検討する：2016年5月19日。

Japanese Special Task Force at Jungle Warfare Training Center, Japan

The Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF), Special Task Force sent five observers to Jungle Warfare Training Center (JWTC), Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, to observe U.S. Marine Corps tactics, May 19, 2016. JWTC is a training area U.S. Marines use to learn the skills to shoot, move and communicate in a jungle environment. The JGSDF is considering joining the Marines on the training base so that the two forces can work together effectively in a jungle terrain.
