U.S. Navy Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier second ship John F. Kennedy (CVN-79) conducted its first Builder’s Sea Trials from January 28 to February 4, 2026.

During the trials, teams from HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding and the U.S. Navy worked together to conduct intensive at-sea testing of major systems in the Atlantic Ocean, including propulsion, steering, navigation, and other core ship functions.

The video also features underway operations and ship handling (including high-speed turns), along with MH-60S helicopter operations and landing footage.
