Edwards Air Force Base is a United States Air Force installation located in California’s Mojave Desert.
It features vast grounds and a unique runway system, including the iconic “Runway 17/35,” which stretches approximately 39,000 feet (about 12 kilometers) in length, making it one of the longest in the world.

The base plays a crucial role in aircraft and spacecraft test flights as well as the development of new technologies. It is also well-known as a primary alternative landing site for the Space Shuttle. Historically, Edwards AFB has been at the forefront of supersonic flight tests and cutting-edge aviation advancements.
