The SIMON breach grenade is a bullet-trap rifle grenade designed to breach doors, developed by Israel's Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
In addition to being used by the Israeli Ground Forces, it is also employed by the U.S. Army under the designation M100 Grenade Rifle Entry Munition (GREM).
The grenade is propelled by a standard 5.56 mm bullet to a maximum range of 30 meters (98 feet) and is detonated when its standoff rod (a device that ensures the grenade is positioned at the correct distance from the door) impacts the surface to be breached.
