My short video of grated daikon radish soba was well-received, and I received requests to see me grate yam, so I gave it a try. This time, I used the commercial high-speed grater "Super Oroshi" and the commercial tabletop leek slicer "Electric Negihei Junior." If you're interested in more details about these commercial kitchen appliances, please check out the longer video I previously posted. Peeling the yam was difficult; it was slippery and made my skin itchy. The grating scene cuts off for a moment, but that's because the yam splattered spectacularly, covering the room in it. That happened late last night... it was hell. The leeks had a high water content, so the cut pieces stuck together and didn't splatter as much as usual. Sorry to all the leek-splattering fans! I'd like to try cutting leeks with lower water content, like Kujo leeks, for a better splattering experience another time. The dishes and plates used by the bearded man are from the brand "Tutankhamun-do." Washing the dishes was a hassle, but the grated yam soba with a raw egg topping was incredibly delicious, so I was very satisfied.
