“Since we already have the Subaru Telescope, why do we need ALMA?” This video clip was prepared to answer that question. The NAOJ constructs and utilizes various telescopes. To elucidate the mysteries of the birth and evolution of the Universe and the secrets of star and planet formation, we must observe all of the signals from space. This video clip introduces the shape of the Universe and the conditions of celestial objects revealed by observations in visible light and other wavelengths. It also explains their importance.
