これは、アメリカの詩人Max Ehrmannが1926年に発表した詩です。タイトルはラテン語の「Desiderata」で、意味は「切実な願い」です。

この詩は、ヨハネ・パウロ2世の執務室にもあったと言われています。本当に私達が望む事、人生をどのように生きなければならかを垣間見ることができる詩だと思います。特に年齢を重ねるとより共感が得られる内容です。Tom O'Bedlamが読んでいます。
