若田光一氏は日本の宇宙航空研究開発機構（JAXA）に所属する宇宙飛行士であり、これまでにアメリカ航空宇宙局のスペースシャトルや、ロシア連邦宇宙局のソユーズに搭乗して、4度宇宙飛行ミッションを行いました。

彼が2014年に駐日米国大使館で、元駐日米国大使 Caroline Kennedy氏（故ケネディ大統領の娘）と、大勢のVIPの前で、彼が経験した宇宙探査任務の話をする映像です。彼が宇宙飛行士になることが出来たベースとなった米国の宇宙探査プロジェクトは、当時駐日米国大使の父であったとケネディ大統領が1961年に行った「Man on the Moon」の演説から始まったものです。

若田氏は、留学経験はありませんが英語をとても素敵に話しています。一生懸命努力をした結果を知ることが出来ると思います。彼の話を聞いてみましょう。
