小さな子ども、特に赤ちゃんを前にすると思わず、ふだん大人どうしで話すときとは全く異なる、独特のやり方で話しかけてしまう、という方は少なくないと思います。おそらく、子どもをかわいく思う「心」から出てしまう、このような「赤ちゃん向けしゃべり」。なぜ大人は小さな子に向けてそのような話しかけ方をするのか、このような話しかけ方は、子どものことばの発達に何か意味があるのか、について考えます。

The Mind Which Develops Infant's Language [JP]

Most adults have experience of talking to infants in a different way from talking to adults. Such "infant-directed speech" is supposed to be a natural expression of love and caring for the infants. Prof. Haryu gives a scientific explanation of this phenomenon and discusses how it works for the development of the language of infants.
