地球環境や天然資源は天からの恵みです。この恵みの上に私たちの現代社会は成り立っています。私たちは石油などの資源を燃やし生産を行い、廃棄物を大気、地中、海中に投棄しているのです。この恵みをどう享受し保全するか、特に、一つの世代内で、そして現世代と将来世代の間でどのように配分するべきか、という問題は現代社会にとって最も重要な課題の一つと言えるでしょう。こうした問題を経済学の観点から考えてみたいと思います。

Despite human has been obtaining tremendous blessing from the nature and society, it is not guaranteed to be sustainable forever. How can we figure out the phenomenon and take action to keep acquiring such benefits? In this lecture series, lecturers who have different academic backgrounds define "blessing" in terms of their specialty and talk about how our society ought to live with the notion.
