沿岸域は津波や高潮といった沿岸災害が起こるたびに様々な防災対策が検討実施されてきました。また、沿岸域の開発に伴う水質や生態系の劣化といった問題が顕在化し、改善に向けた多くの取り組みがなされてきました。このような沿岸域の防災や環境の課題に人間はどのように向き合ってきたか、その取り組みは進歩しているのか、といったことを最新の知見を交えながら考えます。
