ダチョウやエミュー、ペンギン、ニワトリなど
飛べない、つまり飛翔能力を失った鳥は実にたくさん存在します。
しかし、同じく飛翔動物であるコウモリの中には飛べない種は存在せず
その祖先においても飛翔能力を喪失した例は確認されていません。
なぜ、飛べないコウモリはいないのでしょうか？
今回はコウモリについての話です。
