自然界は想像を絶する現象に溢れているところです。
その内の一つが、まさに
Predator-Prey Role Reversal,
別名「捕食者-被食者の役割の逆転」です。
通常、このような現象はウシガエルのように
被食者の体が捕食者よりも大きかったり
それと似たような状況であったりした場合に
しばしば発生するといわれています。
しかし、このような常識を覆す事例が存在します。
それは自分より何倍も大きいカエルを食べる
エポミス属の甲虫です。
