　ミシガン州、ミッドランドにあるチャールズ・W・ハワード・サンタクロース学校のワークショップで、サンタがメーキャップのしかたを勉強する。
　サンタ養成学校のハーバード大学と呼ばれるこの学校では、何百人もの生徒が3日間のワークショップに出席する。ここでは、白いひげを付けた生徒たちがサンタ特有の赤い頬の作り方を学ぶなど、サンタになるための腕前を上げる。
　1937年に開設されたこのプログラムは世界で最も歴史の長いサンタ学校で、サンタは町にやってくる前にサンタらしくなる。

Santas learn to apply makeup during a workshop at the Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School in Midland, Michigan. Considered by many to be the Harvard of Santa training centers, the school attracts hundreds of people to its three-day workshop. There, the mostly white-bearded students learn to perfect their skills, like mastering Santa’s signature rosy complexion. Established in 1937, the program is the the longest continuously running Santa school in the world, ensuring that before Santa comes to town, he always looks the part. (REUTERS)
