　お笑い芸人の猫ひろしさんが1月8日、東京都内で行われた映画「ジミー、野を駆ける伝説」（ケン・ローチ監督、17日公開）のPRイベントに登場した。今年2月に決勝大会が行われるピン芸人日本一を決めるコンテスト「R－1ぐらんぷり2015」（関西テレビ・フジテレビ系）にも出場すると語ったが、「（リオ五輪出場は）R－1で優勝するより確率が高い……」と弱気だった。

　昨年のR－1は2回戦で敗退しており、「今年は大きいことを言っても仕方ないので、3回戦までは地味に出場を目指したい」と消極的な目標を掲げていた。

　映画は、ローチ監督の最新作。「自由」と「教育」の権利を訴えたことでアイルランド史上唯一、裁判を受けずに国外追放となった活動家、ジミー・グラルトンの実話を基にその生き方を描く物語。
