　ディズニー／ピクサーの新作劇場版アニメ「アーロと少年」（ピーター・ソーン監督）の来日会見が2月4日、東京都内で行われ、来日したソーン監督、プロデューサーのデニス・リームさんらが作品に関するトークセッションを行った。

　ソーン監督は日本映画から受けた影響について「個人的にはジブリの作品、黒澤明監督、小津安二郎監督の作品、特に自然に対するリスペクトを感じる部分に大きくインスピレーションを受けている」といい、「どうやったら自然をキャラクターのように描けるのか。そのためにストーリーはシンプルにした」と説明。自然の美しさと危険を受け止めた作品内のカットを、現場で「俳句カット」と呼んでいたことを明かし、「作品自体の美的センスは、間違いなく日本からです」と、熱く語った。

　「アーロと少年」は、恐竜が絶滅せずに生き残り、人間のように言葉を話す地球を舞台に、愛する家族と離れ離れになった弱虫で独りぼっちの恐竜アーロが、家族の元に帰るため壮大な冒険に出る感動のアドベンチャーファンタジー作。3月12日公開。

"Director Sohn respects Japanese movies! What is ""Haiku Cut"" made right at filming location? Press conference on Japan premiere of movie ""The Good Dinosaur"" 2.

A press conference on the Japan premiere of the new animated movie version ""The Good Dinosaur"" (directed by Peter Sohn) of Disney and Pixar was held in Tokyo on February 4th. After arriving in Japan, director Sohn and producer Denise Ream organized a talk show about this work.

Regarding the influence of Japanese movies, director Sohn said: ""I myself was tremendously inspired by works of Ghibli, works of directors Akira Kurosawa, Yasujiro Ozu, especially for the parts which give me feelings about the respect for the nature."" He also added: ""How to draw the nature like draw characters? To do this, I have made the story more simple."""
