　ガールズユニット「X21」の井頭愛海（いがしら・まなみ）さん（14）が、3月20日に開幕する「第88回選抜高校野球大会（センバツ）」（毎日新聞社、日本高校野球連盟主催）の応援ポスターのイメージキャラクターに決まり、2月29日、東京都内で行われた会見に登場。

　センバツでは、2013年から毎年、応援ポスターのイメージキャラクターを起用しており、初代を「第13回全日本国民的美少女コンテスト」（12年）でグランプリを受賞した吉本実憂さん、2代目を女優の小芝風花さん、3代目を小澤奈々花さんが務め、井頭さんは4代目となる。井頭さんはイメージキャラへの抜てきに「びっくりしています。選手の身近で応援できることをうれしく思う。一生懸命がんばります！」とフレッシュに喜んでいた。

Manami Igarashi (14 y/o) of girls unit ""X21"" was chosen as the image character in the cheer poster for ""The 88th National Invitational High School Baseball Tournament"" (held by Mainichi Shimbunsha, Japan High School Baseball Federation) opening on 20th March, and she attended the press conference held in Tokyo on 29th February.

Since 2013, this tournament has chosen one image character every year in the cheering poster, the 1st generation was Miyu Yoshimoto (12 y/o) winner of ""13th Japan Bishojo Contest"", the 2nd generation was actress Fuka Koshiba, the 3rd generation was Nanaka Ozawa, and the 4th generation is Igarashi."
