　お笑いタレントのマギー審司さんが東日本大震災から5年を迎えた11日、東京都内で行われた第1回「3．11WALK」出発式に出席。宮城県気仙沼市の出身のマギー審司さんは「3月11日が来るとテレビで（震災のことを）いっぱいやるんですけど、翌日から急に日常に戻ってしまう。3月11日であの頃を思い出して、『被災地大変だな』となってくれるのは、すごくありがいんですけど、その翌日からが本当の勝負だと思う」と力を込め、「風化が一番怖い。（被災地から）目をそらさないでほしい」と訴えた。

　さらにマギー審司さんは「被災地にはまだまだ問題や課題はたくさんあるし、正直、何が足りないかは、その人その人に聞かないとよく分からない」と正直な心情を吐露。その上で「観光でいいので東北に遊びにきてほしい。美味しいもの食べて、遊んで、お土産たくさん買って。東北の人はおもてなしがすごいので、ぜひ足を運んでほしい」とも語った。

　「3．11WALK」は、東日本大震災が発生した3月11日に合わせて、通勤・通学先から歩いて帰ることを体験してもらうイベントで、震災の記憶を風化させず、防災・備蓄意識を高めることを目的に初開催された。マギー審司さんは「3．11WALK」のアンバサダーを務めており、出発式には女優の小芝風花さんや「2016ミス・ユニバース」日本代表の中沢沙理さんも登場した。
