　俳優の渡辺謙さんが4月26日、東京都内で行われた映画「追憶の森」（ガス・ヴァン・サント監督）のプレミアイベントに出席。本作で初タッグを組んだアカデミー俳優、マシュー・マコノヒーさんはこの日、ビデオメッセージを寄せ、渡辺さんとの共演を「楽しかった。念願だったからね」と語り、「謙には独特の雰囲気がある。君からは威厳を感じる。王様のようだよ。しかも非常に面白い。あんなにユーモアがあってゆかいな人とは知らなかった」と笑顔で語った。

　「追憶の森」は、富士山の北西に広がる青木ケ原の樹海が舞台。死に場所を求めてやってきたアメリカ人のアーサー（マコノヒーさん）は、けがをし、寒さに震える日本人のタクミ（渡辺さん）と出会う。放っておくことができず、タクミと一緒に出口を求めて歩き始めるが、道はどこも行き止まりで、方向感覚を失った2人は森をさまよう……というストーリー。4月29日公開。

Actor Ken Watanabe was present at the premiere preview event of the movie "The Sea of Trees" (directed by Gus Van Sant), held in Tokyo, on April 26th.

His first-time co-star in this movie, Matthew McConaughey - who won the Best Actor Academy Award, expressed in Video Message: "It is a pleasure to act with Watanabe because that is at the heart my prayer; and also said with a smile: "In Ken, I see there is a special atmosphere. There is a feeling of majesty emanating from you. Just like a king. But you are also very funny. There is no doubt that you have good sense of humor and is such a delightful person."
