　愛知県で開催中のコスプレの祭典「世界コスプレサミット2016」のレッドカーペットイベントが8月6日、名古屋市中区の繁華街・栄の錦通りを封鎖して行われた。この日の同市を含む愛知県西部地方の最高予想気温（気象庁）は35度で、猛暑の中、コスプレ世界一を競うメインイベント「世界コスプレチャンピオンシップ」に出場する、過去最多30カ国・地域の代表コスプレーヤー60人が思い思いのコスプレで、約200メートルのレッドカーペットを、約1時間にわたりパレードした。

　パレードは、昨年、コスプレ世界一に輝いたメキシコ代表を先頭にスタートし、インド代表、ブラジル代表と続いた。

　「世界コスプレサミット」は03年から開催され、今年で14回目を迎えるコスプレの祭典。世界各国から日本のアニメ、マンガ、ゲーム、特撮のキャラクターに扮したコスプレーヤーが参加して世界一を競うほか、一般コスプレーヤー、コスプレファンも参加できるイベントを開催している。現在は、名古屋・栄を中心に愛知県内の各所でイベントを開催。

The red carpet event of the "World Cosplay Summit 2016", which was held in Aichi Prefecture, was organized under the form of blocking streets of the metropolitan Sakae City, Naka Ward of Nagoya Prefecture on August 6th.

In the hot sunshine of 35oC - the highest temperature (forecast by the meteorological station) in the West of Aichi Prefecture, including the city where the event was held, 60 cosplayers representing 30 countries in the region - the highest number in the history, appeared at the main event "World Cosplay Summit 2016" to compete for the world Champion of cosplay and performed for nearly one hour on the 200m-long red carpet in their personal cosplays.
