　愛知県で開催中のコスプレの祭典「世界コスプレサミット2016」のレッドカーペットイベントが8月6日、名古屋市中区の繁華街・栄の錦通りを封鎖して行われた。この日の同市を含む愛知県西部地方の最高予想気温（気象庁）は35度で、猛暑の中、コスプレ世界一を競うメインイベント「世界コスプレチャンピオンシップ」に出場する、過去最多30カ国・地域の代表コスプレーヤー60人が思い思いのコスプレで、約200メートルのレッドカーペットを、約1時間にわたりパレードした。

　「世界コスプレサミット」は03年から開催され、今年で14回目を迎えるコスプレの祭典。世界各国から日本のアニメ、マンガ、ゲーム、特撮のキャラクターに扮したコスプレーヤーが参加して世界一を競うほか、一般コスプレーヤー、コスプレファンも参加できるイベントを開催している。現在は、名古屋・栄を中心に愛知県内の各所でイベントを開催。

The "World Cosplay Summit" started to be held 3 years ago and this year is the 14th cosplay festival. In addition to being organized for cosplayers from countries in the world to wear typical costumes of characters in games, comics and animations of Japan to compete for the world Champion of Cosplay, ordinary cosplays and cosplay fans can also participate in the event.

At present, the event is being held in places of Sakae - Nagoya Centers in Aichi Prefecture.
