　2匹の猫が架空の猫専用の通信講座“ユーニャン”で勉強する姿を映したユーキャンのウェブ限定動画「ねこ勉～Cats Learning～」が2月22日、公開された。動画では、白と黒の2匹の猫が、おじいさんを亡くして落ち込むおばあさんを励ますために「2本足での立ち方」や「肩のもみ方」をDVDやテキストで一生懸命“勉強”する姿が映し出されている。

　動画は、長野県の山奥に住むおばあさんと一緒に暮らしている白猫と黒猫のもとに、ある日、犬から猫専用の通信講座「ユーニャン」の教材が届けられる。2匹の猫はおばあさんを元気づけるため隠れてこっそりと、肉球で書かれたテキストやDVDを見ながら「肩もみの練習」「しっぽを振る練習」「2本足で立つ練習」などを“勉強”。その後、2匹の猫は、おじいさんの写真を見て涙を流すおばあさんの前で練習の成果を発揮し、おばあさんの笑顔を取り戻す……というストーリー。

　“主演”として出演したおばあさん役の外山睦子さん（80）は、スタッフが撮影のためのロケハン時に出会った一般人で、その場で交渉して出演が決定したという。動画に家族役として登場する人々も、外山さんの実際の家族が出演している。

　4分19秒の映像はユーキャンのユーチューブ公式チャンネルで公開されている。

To help the old lady become healthier, the two cats secretly hide the video and write down the video's content. Then, they watch the video and learn from the text, for example they learn how to "massage shoulders", "wag their tails", stand on 2 legs".

Finally, upon seeing the old lady looking at the picture of a man with tears in her eyes, the two cats now put the skills they have learned to use and make the old lady smile...
