　1970年代を中心に人気を集めたロボットアニメ「マジンガーZ」の新作劇場版アニメ「劇場版マジンガーZ（仮題）」の特報映像が6月16日、公開された。フランスで開催中の映画祭「アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭」でお披露目された映像で、巨大ロボット・マジンガーZと機械獣のバトルシーンが描かれ、マジンガーZが必殺武器・光子力ビームを放つ。また、マジンガーZのパイロット・兜甲児らしきキャラクターの後ろ姿が見られるほか、「それは、神にも悪魔にもなれる」というキャッチコピーも紹介されている。

　「マジンガーZ」は、地球の平和を守るため、主人公・兜甲児がロボットを操り、世界征服をたくらむ悪の天才科学者Dr.ヘルが作り出した機械獣軍団と戦う……というストーリー。永井豪さんのマンガが72年に「週刊少年ジャンプ」（集英社）で連載開始。テレビアニメは72～74年に放送された。水木一郎さんの歌う主題歌、超合金などのキャラクター玩具なども人気を集めた。

　同作の劇場版アニメは、74年公開の「マジンガーZ対暗黒大将軍」以来で、過去のテレビアニメ版などと同じ東映アニメーション（旧東映動画）が製作する。森久保祥太郎さんが主人公・兜甲児、茅野愛衣さんがヒロイン・弓さやかをそれぞれ演じる。
