　愛知県で開催中のコスプレの祭典「世界コスプレサミット（WCS）2017」に参加している34カ国・地域の代表コスプレーヤーたちによるパレード「大須コスプレパレード」が6日、名古屋市の商店街「大須商店街」（名古屋市中区）で行われ、各国の代表が大須観音に集結した。境内や商店街は大勢の見物客でにぎわい、冨樫義博さんの人気マンガ「HUNTER×HUNTER（ハンター×ハンター）」の主人公ゴン・フリークスが“強制成長”した姿を再現したコスプレーヤーが登場すると、ひときわ大きな歓声とどよめきが上がった。

　“強制成長”したゴンのコスプレは、髪だけで2メートルはある姿で、風によって髪が倒れてしまうハプニングもあったが持ち直し、観客の拍手を浴びていた。各国代表は、ほかに「セーラームーン」「鋼の錬金術師」「らんま1／2」「スプラトゥーン」など、人気アニメやゲームなどのキャラクターのコスプレ姿で登場した。

　「大須コスプレパレード」は毎年WCSで行われる恒例のイベント。この日のパレードがスタートした11時ごろの名古屋は気温32.4度、湿度57％（気象庁発表）で、強い日差しが注ぐ中、各国代表と集まった一般コスプレーヤーが商店街を練り歩いた。

　WCSは、03年にスタートし、今年15回目。世界各国から日本のアニメ、マンガ、ゲーム、特撮のキャラクターに扮（ふん）したコスプレーヤーが参加して世界一を競うメインイベント「世界コスプレチャンピオンシップ」が行われるほか、一般コスプレーヤー、コスプレファンも参加できるイベントを愛知県内の各地で開催している。
