　尾田栄一郎さんの人気マンガ「ONE PIECE（ワンピース）」の主人公のモンキー・D・ルフィとぬえが戦う姿を石を使って描いた巨大石絵が10月5日、大覚寺（京都市右京区）でお披露目された。大覚寺の約800平方メートルの日本庭園に約30トン分の石で描いた作品で、同寺で行われる展示「ONE PIECE ART NUE 大覚寺『魔獣と姫と誓いの花』」の一環として展示される。公開時期は、7～22日午前9時～午後5時。拝観料は、大人が500円、小学生、中学生、高校生が300円。

　「ONE PIECE」は連載20周年を記念して、京都市とコラボした体験型観光イベント「ONE PIECE 20th × KYOTO 京都麦わら道中記～もうひとつのワノ国～」を7～22日に開催。京都をマンガに登場する「ワノ国」に見立てて、麦わらの一味の“痕跡”を巡りながら京都観光ができる。大覚寺では、マンガの原画なども展示される。

　「ONE PIECE」は、手足などがゴムのように伸びる麦わら帽子の青年・ルフィが、海賊王を目指して仲間とともに大海原を冒険する姿を描いたマンガ。1997年から「週刊少年ジャンプ」（集英社）で連載され、99年からテレビアニメが放送されている。

“Filming from above” “ONE PIECE” releases giant stone painting at Daikaku-ji Pagoda, Kyoto for first time

The giant stone painting which portrays the battle between the main characters Monkey D. Luffy and Nue in the popular manga “ONE PIECE” by Oda Eiichiro was released to the public for the first time on October 5th at Daikaku-ji Pagoda (Ukyo-ku, Kyoto). This work is painted on stone with the weight of about 30 tons in a garden of Japan with an area of about 800 m2 in Daikaku-ji Pagoda and is displayed as part of the exhibition named “ONE PIECE ART NUE Daikaku-ji “Majū to Hime to Chikai no Hana” (Devil, Princess and the vow of the flowers) which are being held at the same time. “ONE PIECE” is a manga about Luffy – a young man wearing a straw hat and having elastic hands and legs like rubber. He makes an ocean adventure with his friends towards the goal of becoming a pirate king.
