　歌手のささきいさおさんが、人気アニメ「宇宙戦艦ヤマト」の最新作「宇宙戦艦ヤマト2202 愛の戦士たち」の第4章「天命篇」（27日公開）のオープニング主題歌を歌うことが12日、明らかになった。ささきさんが、同シリーズで主題歌を務めるのは初めてで、ささきさんが歌う「宇宙戦艦ヤマト 2202」は、往年の人気アニソン「宇宙戦艦ヤマト」の新バージョンで、同バージョンが収録されたPVも公開された。

　ささきさんは「今回は最初に『宇宙戦艦ヤマト』主題歌を歌ったときのような感じで歌ってほしいと言われた」と話し、「まさか、一から作り直すとは思わなかった。元の曲にちょっと楽器足して、テンポを上げるくらいなのかなって。かなりテンポは上がりましたよね。今回は、ちょっと荒っぽさというか、『旅に出て何者かに立ち向かっていくぞ！』という勇壮さを意識して歌いました」と、メッセージを寄せている。

　さらに、公開初日の27日に東京・新宿ピカデリーで開催される舞台あいさつに、小野大輔さん、鈴村健一さん、東地宏樹さん、福井晴敏さん、中村繪里子さん、山寺宏一さん、羽原信義監督が出席するほか、28日にユナイテッド・シネマわかば（埼玉県鶴ヶ島市）などで行われる「2日目舞台あいさつ」に福井晴敏さん、小林治さん、羽原監督が出席することも明らかになった。

　「宇宙戦艦ヤマト2202」は、12年放送の「宇宙戦艦ヤマト2199」の続編で、1978年に公開された「さらば宇宙戦艦ヤマト　愛の戦士たち」がモチーフ。小説「亡国のイージス」「機動戦士ガンダムUC」の福井晴敏さんがシリーズ構成と脚本を手がけている。

On 12th, Isao Sasaki performed the theme song opening episode 4 "Tenmei hen" (to be broadcasted on 27th) in the latest work "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" of the famous anime "Space Battleship Yamato".

This is the first time Sasaki has performed the theme song in this series.
The promotional movie of the song "Space Battleship Yamato 2202" (sung by Sasaki) is also released after being edited by the crew in the new version of the anime "Space Battleship Yamato" which was famous in previous years.

Sasaki told: "This time, I am requested to perform the theme song "Space Battleship Yamato" with the same emotions as the first time I sang". He also shared: "It is true that I haven't thought of re-creating the song. If I added more instruments to the original song would it make the tempo faster? This time, I've sang in a brave manner, probably a bit "aggressive". I've departed and I will fight against anyone in this journey."
