大寒の２０日早朝、群馬県長野原町の川原湯温泉で、ふんどし姿の若者らが地元の繁栄や無病息災を願って湯をかけ合う「湯かけ祭り」があり、宿泊客らとともに楽しんだ。同温泉は、八ツ場ダム建設に伴い水没する予定で、代替地に移転する前の最後の祭りとなる可能性もある。
