ホンダは２０日、上級セダン「アコード」をベースにした新型ハイブリッド車（ＨＶ）「アコード　ハイブリッド」を発表した。２１日発売。ガソリン１リットル当たりの走行距離はライバル車を上回る３０キロ。自動車各社の間では消費者に人気が高いＨＶの開発競争が激化しており、ホンダはＨＶ市場でシェアの約４分の３を占めるトヨタ自動車を追撃したい考えだ。

Honda unveils Accord hybrid with high fuel efficiency

Honda Motor Co. unveils the Accord hybrid vehicle on June 20, 2013, to be put on sale the following day. The new sedan features fuel efficiency of up to 30.0 kilometers per liter, compared with the rival Toyota Camry hybrid's 23.4 km per liter. With the new lineup, Honda aims to catch up with rivals including Toyota Motor Co., the front-runner in the hybrid market accounting for around 75 percent of hybrid vehicle sales in Japan.
