東日本大震災の津波で大きな被害に遭った岩手県の三陸鉄道は６日、最後まで不通となっていた北リアス線小本―田野畑間（１０・５キロ）の運行を再開した。南リアス線と合わせた１０７・６キロが全て復旧し、開業３０周年での再出発。宮古駅で開かれた記念式典には太田昭宏国土交通相やタレントの藤原紀香さんが出席した。
