ゆるキャラ日本一を決める「ゆるキャラグランプリ２０１４」のインターネット投票が２日から始まった。
Fans of "yuru-kyara," or regional mascot characters, begin casting votes online on Sept. 2, 2014, in an annual mascot popularity contest. Winners from recent years, including the 2011 champion Kumamon, the black bear mascot for Kumamoto Prefecture, and the 2012 winner Bary-san, the yellow bird promoting the city of Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, gather at the foot of Tokyo Skytree the same day to urge people to take part in the vote running until Oct. 20.
