ＪＲ西日本は１９日、１１月７日から運行を始めるアニメ「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン」のデザインをあしらった５００系山陽新幹線こだま号を報道陣に公開した。運転期間は ２０１７年３月までで、新大阪―博多間を１日１往復する予定。
West Japan Railway Co. unveils a shinkansen bullet train painted in purple in the image of a giant human-type weapon in the TV animation series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" during a press event in Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on Oct. 19, 2015. The 500-series shinkansen train will make a daily round trip between Shin-Osaka and Hakata stations on the Sanyo Shinkansen Line from Nov. 7 to March 2017 to commemorate the 20th anniversary this year of the beginning of the TV broadcast of the series.
