電車を走行させる際、モーターの駆動を制御するVVVFインバータ。
中でも日立製のGTO-VVVFインバータは美しい音階を奏でる事でファンも多かったようです。
その日立GTO-VVVFインバータを搭載する、JR東日本の旅客運転車両としては最後の一編成E2系J11編成が2018年11月14日を最後に役目を終える事となってしまいました。(残る日立GTO-VVVFインバータ搭載車両はEast iのみ)

Among various inverters, Hitachi GTO-VVVF was popular among fans for its smoothsound.
E2-J11 train, the last passenger train mounted with Hitachi GTO-VVVF inverter, operated by JR East, closed its history on November 14, 2018.
