Fukuda: Here I am in CASIO. As you all know, CASIO is famous for G-SHOCK. G-SHOCK has so many legendary stories, such as it doesn’t break apart when you drop it from the window at a headquarter building 10m above the ground, and a famous commercial that someone hits a G-SHOCK like a pack in ice hockey…
Oh you must forget Keanu Reeves in the movie “Speed”. G-SHOCK gains worldwide popularity thanks to that movie. They’re just a part of their legends. All of them are not fictional. They all are true stories. I’d say that’s the strength of G-SHOCK brand. We’d like to know what type of stories they’re preparing this year. Let’s check it out.

S: Yutaka’s point in check!
F: One of the characteristic of the latest CASIO is the third material. Initially, that amazing toughness of G-SHOCK comes from resin. In the second generation, we aimed to reproduce that toughness through metal, which is the second material. This year, we brought Carbon fiber in as the third material. As it’s written here, it’s solid, strong, and light! It gets even stronger this time. That’s the point in check this year.

S: Yutaka’s Soul of Watches
F: Here I am in CASIO. CASIO is famous for popular G-SHOCK, especially No.5000’s!. Any new model in the 5000’s?


S: GMW-B5000V. Full metal Shock resistance structure with the taste of vintage.
G-SHOCK: Today we’d like to present this version. Although this is also full metal, but anyway, just try it.
F: Metal case.
G: Yes, but it’s a new processed one, named “Aged IP”.
F: New process to add more taste.
G: Yes. It’s a new processed watch with vintage taste. Please try it on.
F: Wow, I bet it’s gonna be popular all over again.

S: MRG-G2000GA, the greatest G-shock model that inherits the spirit of Japanese swords.

G: This is the latest model in MR-G, the high-end among G-Shock series.
F: So light.
G: This watch is also made of Titanium.
F: Is the bracelet also made of titanium?
Y: yes, it’s titanium. Our concept for this watch is “Gassan”. It’s a clan of Japanese sword makers, and a member of the clan by the name of Mr.Sadanobu Gassan hand-mades these bands each step. As you can see, the second part of the frame, you can find a character that means “to train”. This character is the slogan of the Gassan clan. “To train” is inscribed in this frame.

S: GWR-B1000 Shock resistance structure goes into the new phase. Real toughness protected by carbon.
G: This one is also highly recommended. First, take a look at its material. They’re made of carbons. Carbons have been used for basels, as well as bands, and various parts, but it was the first time carbons are used for the whole case.
F: Super light!
G: Super light, just 72 grams!
F: 72g is unbelievable.
G: We could make this presence in this lightness all thanks to carbon materials.
F: Amazingly light!
G: It fits you.
F: I can’t agree more.
G: We’re glad that our customers like it. I want you to take a look at these buttons. When we produced this watch, we did kaizens inside the buttons and even if this watch faces an external shock, this shock would be dispersed and never been broken apart. That’s why we could design this watch like this.
F: I see.

G: Ah, sure!
