そんな願いを込めて、きんじょの本棚を始めた金城美由紀さん。
金城さんセレクトの様々なジャンルの本をカフェや美容院などに置かせてもらっています。
金城さんのお気に入りはもちろん、寄付された本も。
それらをどんな人が手に取って、どんな反応があるのか、棚に本が増えるたびにワクワクしているそうです。
大の読書好きが高じて、本を通じた出会いの場を提供する金城さんの、思い描く未来とは？

It’s more than just the meeting of a person and a book, it is a place where people can connect with one another… with that desire in mind, Miyuki Kinjo started Kinjo’s Bookshelf (a play on her name and the Japanese word for neighborhood). Ms. Kinjo leaves a wide variety of books that she has selected at businesses like cafes and beauty parlors. Of course the books include Ms. Kinjo’s favorites as well as donated books. She is excited by seeing what kinds of people pick up books, what their reaction was, and seeing the number of books on the shelves increase. As the number of readers and book lovers grow, and she provides a place for people to meet through books; what kind of future does Ms. Kinjo see?
