茨城県を拠点に染色クリエイターとして活動している関将史さんと裕子さん。
リンゴ狩り体験を機に、地元の豊かさを再発見したそう。
その体験時、農家さんがふと漏らした「地元産業やその良さが周知されていないことが残念」という言葉が引っかかり、今までは捨ててしまっていた木や葉っぱなど農業廃棄物を使って、染色することにチャレンジ。
染色を通して、地域やそれを支えている農家のことを広めている、関ご夫妻の思い描く未来とは？

The Sekis, Masafumi and Yuko, are dye creators based in Ibaraki Prefecture. They say that they rediscovered how wonderful their hometown was after going apple-picking. While they were picking apples, the farmer said in passing that it was a shame that more people didn’t know how good their local products were. That comment stuck in their heads, and they decided to try to make dyes using agricultural waste like branches and leaves that were normally thrown away. What kind of future do the Sekis see in their dyes, spreading the word about the area and the farmers who support it.
