Mr President...
Tokyo is a city that is dynamic... yet also peaceful, reliable, safe and stable. A city blessed with world-class infrastructure... and still investing to improve further. And a city that is a global landmark for young people.
Our infrastructure will be put at your service to guarantee delivery in all the vital areas, such as accommodation and security.
We will also deliver in transport thanks to our existing network. In Tokyo, in 2020,
everyone will arrive on time... every time.
Finally, we will deliver in legacy, for the city and for sport, thanks to our Games Hosting Fund of four point five billion US dollars -- ready right now to pay for 10 new permanent venues.
We are investing to meet the long-term needs of the city and to put a renewed emphasis on sport in the heart of the city and in the hearts of thirty-five million people.
In legacy, the Olympic Village will be the biggest housing development in Tokyo for decades. It will also feature the International Exchange Plaza, which will accommodate cultural, education and sporting bodies -- domestic and international. And so, to quote from the city's long-term urban strategy: "Help to create a society where everyone can enjoy sport and children are given dreams."
All this in a city which offers a unique welcome.
