寿司は寿司でも、お腹が膨れるのではなく、環境問題を学べる・・・そんなゲームを考案したのが三浦健太郎さん(北海道大学水産学部1年)です。
中学生の時に訪れた東南アジアのボルネオ島で、パームオイルを作るために熱帯雨林が伐採されている現状を目の当たりにし、環境問題へ関心を抱きました。
自分にできることはないか・・・先生や仲間と話し合いを重ねた結果ひらめいた“寿司ゲーム”。
今では出身校の後輩たちに想いが受け継がれています。そんな三浦さんが思い描く未来とは?
Sushi might be sushi, but rather than filling your stomach, some sushi helps us learn about environmental problems. The person who thought up this game is Kentaro Miura (Hokkaido University Fisheries Sciences 1yr.). As a junior high school student, he visited Borneo in Southeast Asia and upon seeing that rainforests had been cleared for palm-oil plantations, he became interested in environmental problems. He wondered if there was anything that he could do to help, so he talked with his teachers and friends; the “Sushi Game” emerged as a result. Now, the students from his hometown highschool have taken up the torch. What kind of future does Mr. Miura see?
