さっそく、林道を駆け抜けようと山奥へ出かけましたが・・・、壊れました。
古いバイクは、トラブルが多いですね。DIYで修理していきます！

【ヤマハ　チャッピー】

よく知らないバイクですが、団塊の世代の奥さま方が普段使いされていた小さい原付バイクのようです。
ブロックタイヤ素敵です。すぐさま落札。

これで、秘密基地での活動範囲が広がります！


チャピィは、1973年に発売されたヤマハレジャーバイク。
この年の春には、ジッピィが発売されており、
それに続く第二弾というかたちで、先行したジッピィが、
極太のリアタイヤを備えたサンドバギーのような構成
だったのに対し、チャピィは、ちょっとそこまで行く
ときに、気負いなく乗れるようなバイクだった。

そんな雰囲気は、登場時のキャッチコピー
「赤くて、小さくて、かわいい」にもよく表れていた。
エンジンは、49ccの2スト単気筒で、自動遠心クラッチ
の2速ミッション（自動変速）が組み合わされ、
ホイールは前後とも8インチサイズだった。

翌74年には、手動クラッチ＆4段変速仕様車も追加され、
その後、自動遠心クラッチ＆3段変速仕様（変速操作は
必要）も設定された。

1979年11月発売の80年モデルからは、電装系が強化され
るとともに、角型ヘッドライトを採用した。

なお、チャピィは、後年、「チャッピー」や「チャピー」
と呼ばれることが多くなるが、正式な車名は、促音（ッ）
はなく、音引き（ー）でもなく「チャピィ」が正確。
音引きなしは、ジッピィやボビィでも同様だった。

It's a motorcycle I'm not familiar with, but it looks like a small moped that was used by the wife of the baby boom generation.
Block tires are nice. Make a successful bid immediately.

The Chapy is a Yamaha leisure bike released in 1973.
In the spring of this year, Zippy was released,
